Senior Practitioner Job at Bridgend County Borough Council – Bridgend
Bridgend County Borough Council offers a great opportunity to further your social work career. We want the best Senior Social Workers to join us to assess and support the children and families in Bridgend.
We have just completed a restructure to ensure a wider range of pathways for children who are care experienced. This has led to the creation of 4 smaller case management teams that will be underpinned by a strengths based approach within a collaborative and supportive environment. We are now recruiting for a Senior Practitioner to be based within a busy Safeguarding Team working with families in complex situations and providing a strong response to identified needs and concerns.
We are a reflective organisation that continuously builds on its strengths and is committed to the principle that the most effective way of improving outcomes for all Children, Young People and Families is through the provision of accessible, universal services. Join us and you will work in a rewarding, learning environment where staff feel valued.
Our MASH (Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub) went live in April 2018. This incorporates both the requirements of the Social Services & Well Being (Wales) Act 2014 along with safeguarding our most vulnerable children and adults.
Our targeted family support services are co-located with our locality teams, to provide a continuum of services ranging from early help to intensive provision to families with complex needs. They are based in three community hubs around the borough. We also have teams who offer expertise in relation to Children with Disabilities and Young People aged 16+ who are entitled to leaving care services.
In 2020 in Children’s Social Care we launched the outcome focussed approach Social Work model which underpins all of our practice in Bridgend. All new staff will be provided with a suite of training that will support them to develop their practice in respect of the model. In addition Senior Social Workers will be provided with training and development options to enhance their skillset and support them with development opportunities within the organisation.
Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.
Applicants should note that a criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) will be necessary for the successful applicant.
