We are looking for a highly motivated team leader to manage our team of dedicated single homeless housing advisors.

As a Senior Homelessness Advisor you will have an in-depth knowledge of homelessness legislation and will be responsible for carrying out reviews of decisions made by the team. The role oversees the day to day supervision of the singles team and works closely with other teams in Housing Options to ensure that we deliver great customer service to those people requiring our service.

The successful applicant will look to develop the homelessness prevention and relief pathways for homeless people (singles and childless couples) in the city, looking to find innovative ways of preventing them from becoming homeless.

The role also oversees organisation and delivery of the enhanced annual winter provision and works closely with the rough sleeper team, ensures there are suitable housing options available for these and other homeless people with complex needs.

You will have the following:

  • Knowledge of housing legislation including the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and make clear, consistent decisions.
  • Ability to manage performance, including providing direction, setting clear targets and standards, and providing feedback on performance.
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service.

The successful applicant will report to the Homelessness Manager (Singles) but work collaboratively with a range of internal and external partners in delivering the service for single people and childless couples.
