As the governing body for Golf in Australia, our key responsibilities are to encourage participation across the sport whilst supporting the health of all places to play around the country. Working alongside key industry partners such as the PGA of Australia and the WPGA Tour, Golf Australia helps provide player pathways through the events at club and state level, through to the Australian Open. In addition, we support the high-performance program developing talent through to the professional stage.

About the Role:

The Local Government Coordinator will be integral to establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key local government stakeholders to maximise opportunities for golf, and assist the Places to Play team in achieving the outcomes of the Australian Golf Strategy 2022-2025.

This role will work across all Local Government Associations and will engage with Australian Golf Clubs, Facilities, and Places to Play to help drive participation and interest in golf, enhance the golfing experience, and help “tell golf’s story better”.

Your Experience:

To be considered for this position, you will have:

  • A qualification or be studying towards a business degree or similar
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to communicate across a wide range of stakeholders
  • Strong business acumen with experience in writing grants and other business-related documents
  • Well-developed administrative, organisational and time management skills
  • A demonstrated understanding of local government relations will be highly regarded
