The Ministry of Labour Relations & Workplace Safety, Employment Standards Division, is seeking a highly-motivated, client-focused, results-oriented and flexible team player to join its team as an Employment Standards Intake Coordinator.
Reporting to the Manager of Compliance and Investigations, you will be one of two coordinators in the province responsible for managing Employment Standards Intake functions and the Employment Standards provincial call centre. The call centre responds to approximately 25,000 public inquiries yearly on matters related to the province’s employment standards legislation. You will provide supervision and support to a Client Service Representative and 4 Intake Officers providing services in Saskatoon, Prince Albert, North Battleford, and Yorkton. The coordinator is responsible for overseeing an early resolution caseload, responding to email inquiries, scheduling, overseeing the daily operations of the Intake Unit, quality assurance, and undertaking some administrative functions as they relate to supervising staff within their assigned region.
As the successful candidate, you will provide training, supervision, coaching, guidance, and support to staff in the delivery of services and monitor performance measures to ensure outcomes are in line with divisional goals. Your ability to effectively interpret and apply The Saskatchewan Employment Act and Regulations and divisional policies and procedures will be critical in in this role. In addition to providing supervisory oversight to staff, the coordinator is responsible for compiling statistical information, analyzing call-centre metrics, and preparing metric reports for management. Strong math and computer skills and working knowledge of computer database systems and programs such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint are essential in this role.
While leading by example, you will have the ability to effectively influence and motivate staff and to manage change and coach others to achieve divisional objectives. As an active member of the supervisory team, you will provide leadership on implementation of policies, procedures, and services while empowering and encouraging employees to achieve success. You will work effectively and positively with colleagues and the management team to support initiatives/direction that continuously improve or enhance service delivery to the public.
In this role you will work independently, demonstrating sound judgement and initiative to establish priorities and make decisions in accordance legislation and established policies and procedures to support seamless frontline service delivery from the Northern Offices.
To be successful in this position, you will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will have the ability to respond accurately and courteously to inquiries and calm upset clients and manage conflict in a calm, rational and respectful manner.
