Location: Preferred location based at NSWSES State Headquarters in Wollongong – regional locations may be considered with flexible working arrangements available.

Clerk Grade 7/8

Salary – Maximum TRP $123,097 (salary range $99,431 -$110,064). Total remuneration package includes salary plus employer’s 10.5% contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

About the opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists for a Business Analyst to join our dynamic team at NSWSES. Working on the SSKO (Stay Safe and Keep Operational) Program, the Business Analyst SSKO will work across several projects. The SSKO program focuses on improving volunteer and member safety by enhancing operational communication capability in the field.

The Business Analyst is responsible for reviewing and analysing the organisation’s business objectives, services, processes and information needs to identify key areas for business improvement. Working closely with the SSKO and project support teams, the role will contribute to the development of project plans to ensure the successful facilitation of the SSKO program and achievement of business objectives on a wider scale. All projects will focus on operational communication initiatives with specific focus on field-based deployment, operational communication strategy, IT infrastructure and software development.

The NSW State Emergency Service (NSW SES) is an emergency and rescue service made up almost entirely of volunteers and supported by a small staff contingent. NSW SES is a key influencer of other emergency service agencies and works closely with these partners to modernise and grow volunteering to save lives and protect communities.

While major responsibilities are for flood, storm operations and tsunamis, the NSW SES also provides the majority of general rescue effort in the rural parts of the state. This includes road accident rescue, vertical rescue, bush search and rescue, evidence searches (both metropolitan and rural), other forms of specialist rescue that may be required due to local threats, Urban Search and Rescue and Community First Response.

About you

To be successful in this role you will:
Demonstrated experience in business analytics with a focus on interpretation of organisational data and process improvement

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to conduct business process reviews and contribute to change management plans to implement business improvement

Possess relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent experience.
