Accountant Job at Bridgend County Borough Council – Bridgend
The Council’s Finance Department provides a range of effective, efficient and high quality professional services with support to Members, managers, staff, services, schools and a range of external partners in the delivery of the Council’s objectives.
We are looking for two experienced accountants for the roles of Financial Accounting; and Governance, Cash and VAT. Additional information for each of the roles is attached to the person specification. The Financial Accountant will contribute to the annual Statement of Accounts production, complete statutory returns including Whole of Government Accounting, and provide varied technical accounting support across the department. The Governance, Cash and VAT accountant will manage the Council’s banking contract, bank and cash reconciliation processes, VAT returns and provide cover for Treasury Management. The Accountant roles are generic and there may be potential opportunities to rotate roles in future. We are seeking qualified accountants with a desire to work in public services, with a desire for service improvements and an ability to work as part of committed and enthusiastic team.
